AEMT Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification Exam 

The primary responsibility of an advanced emergency medical technician AEMT Exam is to offer critical and urgent patients who need emergency medical attention basic and limited advanced emergency medical care as well as transportation. This person possesses the fundamental knowledge and abilities required to offer patient care and transportation. Exam Format:

The Advanced EMT certification exam costs $115. The registration fee is non-refundable. Moreover, the NREMT-AEMT exam consists of 135 questions for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The exam is based on two formats such as a cognitive and a psychomotor exam. However, the minimum passing score for the NREMT is 70%, regardless of how many questions you have to answer on the cognitive test. Students frequently aim for better scores, but 70% will get you past the initial stage, so you may take the physical examination and get certified as an EMT. 

The Cognitive Exam:

The cognitive exam covers these topics such as:

  • Airway, Respiration & Ventilation (18% to 22%) with 85% Adult and 15% Pediatric
  • Cardiology & Resuscitation (21% to 25%) with 85% Adult and 15% Pediatric
  • Trauma (14% to 18%) with 85% Adult and 15% Pediatric
  • Medical; Obstetrics & Gynecology (26% to 30%) with 85% Adult and 15% Pediatric
  • EMS Operations (11% to 15%)

The Psychomotor Exam:

It consists of scenario-related questions such as:

  • Patient Assessment – Trauma
  • Patient Assessment – Medical
  • Ventilatory Management — Supraglottic Airway Device and Pediatric Respiratory Compromise
  • Cardiac Arrest Management/AED
  • IV and Medication Skills
